Increase Public Safety

Leaning on more than 30 years of law enforcement experience, Jim is committed to restoring safety for Shreveporters through a comprehensive and all-hands-on-deck approach to crime.

No New Taxes

Taxation stifles economic growth & opportunity and drives potential businesses elsewhere. As your next city councilman, Jim will be a champion for fiscal responsibility, less burdensome regulations, and creating a friendly business environment where all of our families can work, grow, and thrive.

Get Back to Basics

Some of our leaders have been more concerned with grand visions of massive projects like Cross Bayou instead of focusing on improving the quality of life of all Shreveporters. As your next councilman, we will get our priorities straight and focus on what matters most: our responsibilities to our citizens.

Transition to a Manager-Council Form of Government

Decades of failed leadership has made one thing clear: we must fundamentally change the way Shreveport does business. Our strong-mayor form of government has failed us under multiple administrations and the current system suffers from a lack of oversight, transparency and accountability. Under the Council-Manager structure, the City Manager position provides stability and continuity for the successful operation of the city, including the daily operation of all departments and personnel. This will return power to the people and their council members by removing politics & favoritism from the equation and focusing only on results. The CM structure shields our city from the instability and divisiveness of politics, allowing for our success and outcomes to be performance-based and results-oriented. Nearby cities of similar size which have taken this approach have seen an average population growth of 23% compared to our -5.9% and an average poverty rate of 19% compared to our 26% over the past thirty years.
