Join the Fight to Rebuild Shreveport

As Commissioner, Jim Taliaferro opposed mask mandates, delivered tax relief for small businesses, and stood strong for our 2nd Amendment rights.
As Councilman, Jim opposed the expansion of speed zone cameras, delivered multiple pay increases for our police officers, and supported critical upgrades to our water system.

Jim vowed to lean on his law enforcement experience to help SPD turn the tide on crime. Since his election, crime has declined by historic levels and over 3,250 illegally-possessed firearms have been taken off the streets of Shreveport -- saving countless lives. Multiple police substations are being opened -- increasing police presence in high-crime areas.
Most recently, Councilman Taliaferro joined Shreveport and Desoto Parish officials for the unveiling of a new, state-of-the-art helicopter for law enforcement use.

During Mayor Arceneaux and Councilman Taliaferro's tenure, Shreveport has been the benefactor of hundreds of millions of dollars in new investment from deals with Amazon, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, SLB, Prolec GE, and more – breathing hope, opportunity and good-paying jobs into our community.

Under Councilman Taliaferro's leadership, valuable city assets like "The Purple Park" in Broadmoor and the Downtown Spray Park have been revitalized. Jim is a reliable voice for both improving our infrastructure while opposing wasteful spending that would negatively impact our citizens.
